David Main has over 30 years' experience within the water industry, having been employed by Scottish Water leading teams developing strategies and prioritising & promoting investment in the water distribution network. 

Whilst employed by Scottish Water, David took on challenging roles that included Chair of Water UK WDIN (Water Distribution Infrastructure Network), UKWIR Programme Lead / Industry Expert for Water Distribution, International Consultant working with South Australia Water (in Adelaide), along with key initiatives at Scottish Water including SR06 and SR10 business plan development. 

For the last 12 years, David has been a key supporter of the University of Sheffield PODDS approach to managing discolouration, applying the learning gained on operational Water networks. In April 2024, David joined TSI to help develop our products to enhance how they support Asset Managers in managing discolouration. 

Away from work, David enjoys golfing, walking, gardening and family holidays.
